News of Pharma.be regarding SARS-CoV 2

March 10, 2020

The hospital UZ Leuven has informed that they have postponed all non-essential visits by external parties. This also applies to CROs and monitoring visits by pharmaceutical or device companies.

If those visits cannot be postponed, they must take place at the “study secretariat”. Visits to hospital services are not permitted.

The motivation for this is to reduce the risk that SARS-CoV 2 is brought into the hospital.

The hospital has not taken any measures for patients. This also includes patients participating in a clinical study.

However, UZ Leuven does not exclude that, like hospitals abroad, they will have to reduce their capacity, but this is not the case so far.

All updated information will be available on the UZ Leuven website:  https://www.uzleuven.be/en/news/coronavirus-covid-19

The Famhp is also aware of this situation.
