The FAMHP launches the Medicinal Product Management database: updating data in existing medicinal product databases temporarily not possible

June 23, 2022

On 4th of July 2022, the FAMHP launches the Medicinal Product Management database, a new internal database for medicinal products. Due to the launch, it will be temporarily impossible to update the data in the existing medicinal product databases.

From 22rd of June 2022 (17.00), the data from the various existing medicinal product databases will be transferred to the new database called Medicinal Product Management (MPM). Our services will do everything within their power to limit the impact. However, during that transfer, authorisation and registration files may be closed with some delay, both for new applications and variations.

The actual transfer to MPM will take place between June 28th (17.00) till July 4th 2022 and the external application PharmaStatus will be partially unavailable. This means that it will not be possible to use the PharmaStatus application during the transfer to report the (un)availability or commercialisation of medicinal products. PharmaStatus will remain accessible but will not be updated during the transfer.

The external databases which are supplied by the internal databases, such as the Authentic Source for Medicines database (SAM) and the medicinal product database containing the medicinal products authorised in Belgium and published on the FAMHP website, will remain available but will not be updated between June 28th (17.00) till July 4th 2022.

On July 4th 2022, a new version of the medicinal product database, which is publicly accessible on the FAMHP website, will also be launched.
